TAMIKA S. EDWARDS, J.D.
Tamika Edwards works to eliminate systemic organizational marginalization and promote inclusive practices for the utility, community and water industry. Edwards credits her mother for serving as her first example of an intriguing woman. She raised Edwards and her older sister to value self and others, to stand up for what is right and to practice courage.
Attraction to Career:
The ability to influence, develop and implement large-scale, long-term change. I am drawn to opportunities that encourage the creation or continuation of policies and practices that promote equity and justice.
First Big Break:
During the summer of my senior year at UAPB, I served as an intern at the Arkansas Economic Development Commission for Claudine Forte. That summer internship extended to a full year and led to an internship in the office of former U.S. Senator, Blanche Lincoln.
Surprising Fact:
I am an outgoing introvert, I love reality TV, and I am interested in social and organizational psychology.
